Turks and Caicos 2024

After having such a wonderful time last year, the kids have been asking to go back to Turks and Caicos for their Christmas gift. I think they were mostly joking but when Scott also asked for that trip to be his Christmas gift as well, we booked it. While it was about 20 degrees here, it was 85 degrees in Turks and Caicos in January. Not too shabby!!

Aiden’s Birthday

Me: ”Aiden, I can’t believe you’re 14. That just sounds so old!”

Aiden: ”Oh yeah, 44 sounds even older.”

For his birthday, he wanted to hang out at our house and have family drop in to visit as they were able. Bubba and Pop came into town for the day to celebrate!
The day after his birthday, Aiden invited a few friends to lunch and then to go-karting with him.

Welcome 2024!

Aiden and Court asked to stay home on New Year’s Eve and play board games this year. That is my kind of New Year’s! I cooked dinner at home, we played board games, had the New Year’s Eve TV programs on in the background and were in bed by 10:30pm. Can I do this every New Year’s?

Christmas with the Wolford’s

Since our original Christmas celebration with the Wolford side of the family got delayed (see covid post below), we celebrated on New Year’s Eve day. We had a taco bar and LOTS of delicious Christmas cookies from Grandma Wolford. It was a really fun way to celebrate New Year’s Eve and to extend Christmas a little bit longer!

Christmas 2023

Just before Christmas, I was feeling a little congested and since we had family coming into town, I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t going to get anyone sick. I wanted to be able to say, “Don’t worry! It’s not covid.” But…it was covid. So I sent Scott, Aiden, and Court to the mountains to celebrate while I stayed here with the dogs. They came back Christmas Day around noon and we celebrated, so really, the boys got two Christmases on the same day! (I am trying to look on the bright side here!)

Bubba and Pop reading Christmas stories to all the grandkids on Christmas Eve.
Back home and opening their big Christmas gift trip which I made a scavenger hunt for them to figure out where they were going since I had some extra time on my hands! I will get to our trip in a few posts…
And we finally got a chance to make our gingerbread house from Grandpa!
