Optimist Hall

A few weeks ago, we took the boys and two friends to dinner at Optimist Hall which is a local food hall or as I like to call it, a “fancy food court.” They have lots of options (like more than 20) in the same building so you can get a little of a bunch of different things and have a feast. Asian, Mexican, Italian, Indian, desserts, it goes on and on. We have been there a few times as a family but watching Aiden and Court educate their friends (Kieran and Matias) about the place and how it all works was so entertaining for Scott and me. We didn’t even end up eating! We just sat and chatted while the boys ran around that place and filled their faces.

Fall sports

Fall sports are winding down so I figured I’d post some of Grandpa’s fabulous photos.

Aiden watching Court’s football games (using the field goal post as a bball hoop)
Court had a real crowd at one of his games – a whole Court cheering section! Look at all of those fans!
Court watching (daydreaming?) Aiden play basketball. Haha!
Scott can’t resist hashing out the game with Aiden. Those coaching genes are still in there even if he doesn’t coach for a living.
Aiden’s team has won two tournaments this year – way to go Purple Bandits!

Going to Church

A few weeks ago, Eric Church played a concert in Charlotte. Pop and Bubba have become friends with him over the years, seeing each other at UNC Basketball games and other events. They even went to see him play in Charleston in June. Aiden wanted to go to the concert and Bub and Pop got us all tickets. It was so cool to have three generations in our family enjoying the same music! It was so fun and we got to meet him (he’s taller than I thought he’d be) and his family as well!

Aiden’s science teacher, Ms. Stanley, works the merchandise booth at concerts as her side hustle. So, of course, we went to visit Ms. Stanley and bought some merch!
