Scott’s Birthday Weekend

The boys and I planned a fabulous weekend for Scott’s birthday this year full of dinner reservations, a massage, planned naps for him, and a gift. We were feeling great about our secret plans until we realized that Scott had to be in Chapel Hill on his birthday for his quarterly UNC General Alumni Association meetings. Nuts. So we scrapped those plans and tagged along to Chapel Hill with him. We caught a UNC baseball game on Friday evening, saw a Women’s Lacrosse game on Saturday, ate come Italian Pizzeria III, and still got home in time for birthday dinner reservations. Happy Birthday Big One!

At the baseball game. Notice the foggy background? Yeah, that’s rain. It started pouring near the end of the game and they postponed it until the next day.
IP3 cheesesteaks!
And we ended the weekend with a scrumptious dinner at the Flour Shop!

Taylor Swift

I have a confession to make. I am a total Swifty! For Christmas, I asked for tickets to her concert in Atlanta and after missing out initially in the Ticketmaster lottery debacle, Scott and Jess, my college friend who lives in Atlanta, were able to get stub hub tickets for the two of us to go. Jess has three sons. I have two sons. Let’s face it. If we didn’t take each other, we were never going to go to a Taylor Swift concert and it was totally worth all the planning and money and driving. It was a super magical night – we danced for three hours straight. It was a wonderful celebration of everything good about being a girl!

Court These Days

Guess who is starting allergy shots? This poor kid asked to please get shots twice a week for the rest of the summer. I guess his allergies are that bad! The allergist even gasped when she saw his back. Yikes!
On Lake Norman with his good friend, Matias.
It has been a very rainy flag football season this year, but Court has loved playing quarterback!

Miami Grand Prix 2023

A few weeks before the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, Scott got a call from his high school friend Tyler who is the COO of the event. It’s good to know people in high places! He offered us tickets to the race. Unfortunately, I was not able to go due to a prior obligation but the boys went and have not stopped talking about it ever since! Thanks to Tyler, Melissa, Trey and Malone for hosting the boys!!

You’ll also notice 3 members of the Frederick family and the Epp family too

With Toto Wolf, Mercedes Team Principal. Court’s look is priceless!

Guard Dogs

We ordered dinner the other night and when the delivery person came, they took a photo to prove the order had been delivered. Looks like they were met with our trusty guard dog.

When they are not napping, they are overseeing the backyard for public enemy #1 (squirrels) and #2 (deer).
