Pinehurst

A few weekends ago, we needed an escape and thought we’d explore Pinehurst which we had never been to before. The golf courses were gorgeous and we even got a little sunshine which is a hot commodity this rainy winter in Charlotte. We didn’t have much of an agenda except watch the TarHeels beat Duke on television (woohoo!!) and to explore. Scott’s friend, Parker, mentioned that we should go to Pik N Pig which is a BBQ restaurant. It was the most unique place and super cool place! You drive into a gravel lot with an RV park on the left, a working airstrip on your right and the Pik N Pig right in the middle! And when we got there, there were a bunch of Porsche owners showing off their cars! AND the food was great too! So, there you go, Pinehurst’s hidden gem.

The Davis table

I have been talking for a while about wanting a new coffee table in our living room and have been talking to Scott Davis about some options as he is getting really good at making furniture. Then one day, Scott and Jess just surprised us and showed up with our new table! It is gorgeous and unique – they have a life long customer now! If you are in the market for a new table, I will put you in touch with the man for the job!!

Chief and Juno

Last weekend, we adopted two puppies! Juno is a tan and white female Havashu (Havanese/Shih Tzu mix). Chief is a black and white Morkie (Yorkie/Maltese mix). They are 80% angels sent to us from Bruno in heaven; and 20% devils sent from the other place. Basically, they eat, potty, play, sleep and repeat. What a wonderful life! I haven’t heard giggles from Aiden and Court like this since before the pandemic.

Go Heels!

Although the Dean Dome is not fully open for fans, they do allow a very small number of family members to come to the games. We were lucky enough to go! It was really different – piped in crowd noise in the sound system, empty seats everywhere, no cheerleaders or band. But, it was kind of cool to be able to hear the players talking to each other on the floor and we were so grateful to get to see basketball in person! Thanks to everyone who made that happen!!!

Court “dressed up” as Pop after the game in his office.

Kure Beach

For the past few year, we’ve broken up the Winter blues that I seem to get in January and February with a trip somewhere warm – Disney, the Carribean, etc. This year is different and we didn’t feel great about traveling anywhere so we booked a last minute trip to Kure Beach on the NC coast. It was not even close to warm but we still did our best to soak up some sunshine on the beach.

Third Grade Play

It’s not everyday that you can say you helped film your kid’s virtual 3rd grade play where he plays a merman.

This “dance move” is called the jellyfish.
Court made us spike his hair up since mermen live underwater. And he needed to use the green rug as “seagrass.” He wanted to make sure it looked “real.” Hmmmmm…..
