This fall, Aiden is playing basketball and Court is playing tennis. They are also both trying lacrosse which is like a little after-school clinic once a week. They are loving them all so far! We will see where these paths take them…

We’ve rushed into September with lots of happenings. Life is keeping us busy but we’re trying to take in and appreciate every moment.

Celebrating Grandma’s birthday!
For Court’s birthday, Uncle Mike and Aunt Cara arranged for Court to go on a fishing trip with Cara’s father, Roger. He and his wife, Chris, live at Lake Norman. They were all so generous to take their whole Saturday to spend with us!

Lastly, poor Bruno has been battling some serious arthritis. We have tried a few medicines without helping and now we’re trying CBD oil. His new nickname is “pot dog” and we think it might be making him a bit drowsy. Fingers crossed it works.
I asked to take a picture of the boys on the first day of school while waiting for the bus. This is what I got.
This was the biggest smile Aiden could muster.
When I asked them to tell me how they really felt about going back to school, this is what I got.
On his birthday, Court said, “Mama, there is only 10 more years until I move out of the house!”
Me: “Noooooooooo!” Followed by crying sounds.
Court: “I am just kidding. I’m never going to leave you.”
Scott: “Nooooooooooo!” Followed by crying sounds.
Court wanted a “sleepover party” for his bday so he invited a few friends from school. They were ridiculous, messy, stinky, and perfect 8 year old boys!
Birthday party cuisine picked by Court? Subway, his favorite along with carrot cake cupcakes. Man, am I a lucky mom to have a low maintenance kid or what?!

This is a terrible photo but I would have gotten hit with a pillow if I tried to take another one; the boys watched “The Sandlot” at Court’s request.
One of his bday gifts, Rubick’s Race, has been a huge hit in our house these days.

Not pictured were Grandma and Grandpa Wolford, Kimmie, Kurt, Kenzie, Mike, Cara, Lindsay and Ryan who all made Court feel so special! Thank you all for celebrating our sweet boy who keeps us laughing and guessing everyday. Hope 8 is GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT! (Court just learned to do this with his writing and thinks it’s hilarious!)
Ahhhhh….the beach. The last week of summer vacation before school starts. Started off a little cloudy but it wan’t too hot so we’ll take it. And the weather didn’t stop us from playing in the waves and going on a family fishing trip.

I caught a shark but Aiden topped that with his stingray!
We had so much fun Court fell asleep on the way to dinner.
But not this cool cat.
Can you even guess where we went to dinner? The Peninsula Grill of course!
Digging in the sand will never get old for us.
Scott had to leave early to go back to work but the kids and I stuck around for as long as we could. We went on a wildlife and dolphin tour where we saw a ton of dolphins and got up close and personal with some blue and stone crabs. 
Then we went to Boneyard Beach and Court caught a crab of his own!
It was such a beautiful night!
On the way home, Aiden lost a tooth in his dessert whopper (yes, he had one whopper junior and then got another one for “dessert” and lost his tooth in it). Scott was SO proud!
We didn’t even go home before stopping to pick up the gems that Court had strung into necklaces…and gave one to his brother.
For the third year in a row, Aiden has gone to a local Hornets Hoops bball summer camp. This year his team won the tournament on the last day – Camp Champs!
Aiden’s good friend, James, is the tallest on the team.
This was Court’s first year as well. Can’t really see him but he was there, i promise.
Aiden won an award for having “sick handles.” Translation: he can dribble pretty well. Aiden won in the younger group and the other young gentleman pictures won for the older group. We’re proud of you kid!
