Breakfast with Santa
Santa Claus visited Court’s preschool last Friday. This was Court’s last “breakfast with Santa” before he goes off to kindergarten next year so it was a little bittersweet for me but he loved every minute. We had some breakfast which was good but the second that Santa made his entrance, Court made a path through the other kiddos and stayed right by Santa’s side the rest of the morning. They sang songs in English and in Spanish (so cute), danced to some Christmas carols, and even got a gift from Santa.
Aiden’s nativity
Aiden’s teacher, Ms. Menard, sends home a folder each Wednesday with his work from the week. Today, Aiden brought home this picture that he drew at some point of the nativity. At first it looks like a sweet Christmas picture. But if you look closely, the baby Jesus is in need of a diaper change. Classic. Aiden said, “Well, he was just a baby after all!”
Kneeling at the manger
Aiden and Court went to “kneeling at the manger” at our church on Sunday evening. The 5th graders put on a play that is narrated by the church staff and all the kids in the crowd come dressed at up the different characters in the nativity scene. As the play introduces each character, all the children dressed as that character get to sit on stage with the 5th grade actors. It is absolutely adorable. Say hello to a shepherd (Aiden) and Joseph (Court). Not a dry eye in the house!

Christmas preparations
We are slowly but surely checking off all of our favorite Christmas traditions.
Annual Christmas tree run
Every year, Aiden and Court get to take their annual trip in Granddaddy’s old truck he handed down to Scott to pick up the Christmas tree. No air bags. No car seats. I say my prayers for their safety and they pick up our tree from our church. Tonight was the night! The GOAT did not disappoint and we got a beautiful tree out of the deal. Bring on the decorating!
