A glorious weekend

On Friday night, Scott surprised me with a call saying that he was coming home early as he was literally walking through the front door!  He wasn’t supposed to come home until Monday but with all the craziness in New Zealand with the earthquake (which he was very far away from thankfully), he decided to get out of town.  So we had a wonderful weekend enjoying the Spring-like weather.  We spent a lot of time with my parents and my brother and his son, Ryan.  Aiden ransacked all of their toys and Ryan just crawled behind him to see what he was getting into next.  Then he took a spin on their swingset.  Good times!

And then the weekend got interesting.  For years Scott has been trying to talk me into getting a smartphone and new Apple computer.  After consulting with the women of the Bayer, Scerri, and Newton households, I finally conceded.  I got a new Mac laptop and an IPhone.  Granted, it will take me at least 2 years in order to figure out how to turn said items on, I at least own them.  Bring it on, 21st century!

Thanks to the photographic stylings of Grandpa Wolford for all of these great photos!

A prince protecting his castle. He also had Lindsay's sword, albeit upside down, in his hand to battle any potential dragons.

A new do

Aiden needed a bit of a trim to the ole mohawk.  Scott told me what to do and what guard to use on the clippers.  I promise that I did everything exactly as he said.  Unfortunately, I think that Scott overestimated a bit.  Instead of the faux-hawk that I intended (i.e. a subtle fade into a mohawk), we got a straight buzz.  From the streets, straight to the military!

My boys

Before Scott had to leave town on a work trip, we spend a glorious Saturday having some fun in the sun.  Scott was trying to teach Aiden a thing or two on the basketball court.  We’re pretty sure he’s a natural…at banging sticks and licking the basketball.  The shooting hoops thing is still undecided.

Thanks for the awesome "A" shirt Frederick family!

Not quite what Scott was trying to teach...

Happy days are here again

My mom called today to check on how Aiden was feeling.  She said that the blog photo from the previous post made her so sad, she wanted me to post more pictures so she didn’t have to see his pitiful face first thing when she pulls up the blog.  Lucky for her, Aiden was feeling better today.  So we journeyed outside and captured some happy pictures.  These are for you, Grandma Wolford!

This kid does love to play with a stick

I know he's feeling better when it's hard to get a photo that isn't blurry from him being on the move!

Just a little rest...

...and then he's back on his feet!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Aiden has a bad cold or virus or some coughing, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes nastiness.  We tried and tried all day to get a photo of him with his beloved Valentine’s day stuffed animals.  Bub has been giving them to us for the past few years.  Sadly, this photo was the best we got.  The little critters sing songs or dance around and Aiden absolutely loves them…except when he’s not feeling well. Deep down, he means it:  Happy Valentine’s Day.
